It’s so funny – Roberta and I were born only a few days apart; had I not been named Cynthia, I was going to be named Roberta; and we both drive the same models (just different years) of burgundy vans. We’ve even been told that we resemble each other and look like we could be sisters! We met online in an international crafting community but live only a couple hours apart. And that’s not even the half of it – the list of similarities between us goes on and on. But our friendship goes far beyond superficial similarities. Roberta has been such an amazing friend to me – more than anyone observing from the outside could even realize. She has been the person who’s there for me when others weren’t, the person I can talk to about anything, and the person who can help me see the bright side of things when I’m feeling down. She is always offering a helping hand when I need one and goes far above and beyond what 99% of friends would do for each other. Her support means the world to me.
This quote sums it up perfectly: “In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.” ~Albert Schweitzer I am so very thankful for Roberta.
